With 16 years of career, she has released 3 albums and made important contributions with Brazilian artists such as Chico César, Margareth Menezes, Lia de Itamaracá, Mateus Aleluia, Sabuká Indigenous Group, Carlinhos Brown and others, her most recent album yIDé received the Music Professionals award in the MPB Northeast category.
Héloa is the director and screenwriter of the documentary film “Eu, Oxum” and the series “Originários.”
In 2023, she launched the Aláfia Cultural label, which has already released the Ancestral Wisdom EP from the Sabuká Indigenous Group and the Nadir EP from the quilombola master Dona Nadir.
Her latest album resulted in a tour with more than 40 shows and went through various Brazilian states and important circuits and festivals, bringing the strength of terreiro and village traditions, singing the strength of the orixás and enchanted beings, to the sound of maracas, drums, and electronic beats.
Heloa carries deep Brazil in her roots in her plural rhythm of voices and sounds that resonate in the most diverse afrodiasporic and indigenous manifestations of this Brazil.Heloa is a multi-artist Afro-indigenous, from the Brazilian Northeast, more precisely from the state of Sergipe, she began her artistic studies in a quilombola origin neighborhood, she is initiated in candomblé (Brazilian religion of African origin) and of Kariri-Xocó indigenous ancestry, has a degree as a teacher in Visual Arts from the Federal University of Sergipe, she is a singer, songwriter, actress, filmmaker, creative director, cultural manager, and activist for indigenous and terreiro peoples.
