Um Tom Sobre Jobim is a show that pays tribute, through the voices of Stacey Kent and Danilo Caymmi, to the genius of Tom Jobim, one of the most important and influential Brazilian musicians and composers of all time. Danilo Caymmi became very close to Tom Jobim, due to his close friendship with his father, Dorival Caymmi. Dorival Caymmi’s children, Nana, Dori and Danilo, participated in the album “Caymmi a visité Tom”, and in 1983 Danilo joined Tom Jobim’s orchestra, “Banda Nova”, playing with Tom until his death in 1994, as artistic director. In the hands of Jobim himself, Danilo would finally make his debut as a singer. Stacey Kent, one of the most recognized and popular voices in contemporary jazz, has never hidden her great admiration and fascination for Brazilian music.
