Joabe Reis is one of the most important artists of the new instrumental jazz Brazilian scene. In 2024 he toured in Europe with 8 concerts, he played in some of the most important festivals in Brazil, including Festival Rock and Rio, the biggest Brazilian festival and also had a concert featuring Ed Motta, a very important Brazilian artist.
Joabe is a trombonist, composer and producer. He reveres jazz, highly influenced by Hip-Hop, Neo Soul, Funk and Pop. He released his critically acclaimed first album in 2020, featuring Toninho Horta, Nelson Ayres and New York trombonist Elliot Mason, a member of the Lincoln Center at Orchestra, led by trumpeter Wyton Marsalis.
Joabe was invited by Macy Gray to play on her tour in Brazil with four sold-out shows at Blue Note SP and Rock in Rio. Consolidating himself as an artist who transits between jazz and pop, in the same month he was invited by Toninho Horta to a show in honor of Raul e Souza.
Joabe Reis’ new album, 028, a homage to his natural city Cachoeiro do Itapemirim (ES/BR) was released in 2024 and has some important collaborations such as Bob Mintzer, Gabriel Grossi and Michael Pipoquinha. In the same year Joabe also toured in Brazil inviting Robin Eubanks, one of the most important trombone players. Joabe was invited to participate as a guest in a Latin Grammy week event with the Rio Miami Big Band.
