Son of music, from Bahia and Dona Estela, Saulo was born on September 9, 1977 in the city of Barreiras, in the interior of Bahia. Due to the influence of his maternal family, he became acquainted with music at an early age. At the age of 10, thanks to the encouragement of his uncle Bosco Fernandes, Saulo made his first participation in a public performance, in an electric trio in the city of Barreiras (BA). At 14, he recorded his first album in LP format. At the age of 18, living in Vitória (ES), he created the band Mukeka and began to gain experience pulling blocks in an electric trio for the first time. Soon after, he returned to Bahia full of inspiration and set up Banda Chica Fé, with which he recorded the CD “Querer” and commanded his first Carnival in Bahia, in 2001.
With his work increasingly recognized, Saulo was invited in 2002 to lead the traditional Banda Eva. He took the musicians of the old band with him, imprinting his identity on each new work. With charisma and talent, he won not only Eva fans, but also thousands of new fans across the country.
After eleven years, six CDs, three DVDs recorded, winning the awards for Best Singer for the second consecutive Carnival and the Brazilian Music Award in the Popular Song – Group category, for the double album CNRT, Saulo says goodbye to Eva with an emotional tribute orchestrated by fans on the last day of the Bahian carnival revelry. Shirts and posters with the singer’s name and the words: “Following in his footsteps wherever he goes”, take over the Avenue and serve as fuel for a new stage.
In a solo career, with the musicians and friends who have been with him since Chica Fé, Saulo begins another chapter in his history. With tickets sold out, the recording of the first DVD “Saulo ao Vivo” took place on the 6th and 7th of April 2013, at the Concha Acústica do Teatro Castro Alves, in Salvador (BA), with the participation of Ivete Sangalo, Alexandre Carlo ( Natiruts) and Davi Moraes.
